Parks

Great care has been taken to preserve Daniel Island's natural environment in the form of over 400 acres of parks and open greenspaces. Neighborhood and community parks provide a variety of outdoor venues for recreation and relaxation. Some feature playing fields, swimming pools and other athletic amenities, while others are more quiet and passive in nature with picnic facilities, wooded paths, and shaded sitting areas.

Jogging & Bicycling Trails

More than 12 miles of leisure trails meander through Daniel Islan'’s neighborhoods, parks, downtown, maritime forest, and shoreline. As part of this trail system, a scenic Riverwalk is being built in stages along the edge of the Wando River.

Family Circle Tennis Center
Family Circle Tennis CenterThe island's 17-court professional tennis facility is a City of Charleston facility and is available to residents year-round, offering a wide variety of instructional and competitive programs. With a center stadium court that seats 10,000 spectators, the facility is home to the internationally televised Family Circle Cup women's tennis tournament, which is held on the island each April. Throughout the year, the stadium is the site of a variety of outdoor concerts (Hootie and the Blowfish, B.B. King, Al Green, and the Doobie Brothers all have performed here) and special events like an AVP Volleyball tournament, annual Jazz Festival, triathlons, the annual Komen Charleston Race for the Cure and more.

Blackbaud Stadium
This state-of-the-art soccer stadium is the home of Charleston's professional soccer team, the Charleston Battery, and the site of a series of special fundraising events, festivals and concerts throughout the year. The stadium has twice been nominated by U.S. Soccer Magazine as one of the country's top professional soccer facilities.

Daniel Island Club
The island's private in-town country club offers an incomparable country club experience complete with two nationally-ranked golf courses by Tom Fazio and Rees Jones. Additional amenities for members include a golf learning center, casually elegant clubhouse with a bar, indoor and outdoor dining and full-service event facilities, and the Park Club, the club's separate swim, tennis and fitness facility. The Daniel Island Club is the primary social and recreational amenity of Daniel Island Park, the exclusive neighborhood located on the north end of the island.
